after a very tough week of visits to the vet and test after test after medicine after medicine, Brodie passed away Saturday night. Both our vet and the dr at the emergency clinic were only able to figure out that it was 'some oddball cancer'.. bf and i were curled up on the floor with him when it happened..

the actual moving in went great.. my brother and boyfriend got it all done by the time i returned the zipcar and rode the scooter back over.. i unpacked everything in the first two days (the rain helped).. we ordered some new furniture to arrive friday.. washer dryer should be installed today or tomorrow.. internet went in yesterday (can't get our airport to work so im sitting on the floor next to the modem as i type this)

one major party foul.. brodie collapsed on floor 3 of our 4 floor walk up.. turns out he is 'very very sick' (as the dr wrote in his report) at this point we're not totally sure what it is.. treating for a severe case of worms and hoping for improvements in the next two weeks or he'll have to be hospitalized (at which time this girl will be sitting down with the boyfriend to see just how far we take it.. i've always been of the mindset that i can buy a fancy new dog for 2k.. we're halfway there..)

the thing i love about spring is its still fairly chilly out but you can definitely feel the warmth in the air.. vs fall where its still warm but the air is getting cold.. this is brodie.. he turned seven this month.. boyfriend adopted him out of a saks 5th ave window when he was two months old..

we don't know what he's made of but we call him the goat because he can (and does) eat everything... in the last week he's eaten a jar of peanut butter (including most of the plastic jar), a bag of dried cranberries, an oatmeal cookie, several tampons, a cup of olive oil, and a couple cake pops... and he only threw up once

this is him apologizing and replacing my knitting needles he ate .. while a nearly finished hat was attached...

this is him taking up more room on the bed than i do... he's no longer allowed to sleep on my side of the bed..

last week boyfriend and i went to cali for our double date friends wedding.. we had a great time.. it was outdoor, on a vineyard, perfect weather, great ceremony, blah blah blah..

Michael Antonia was their DJ and he FUCKING ROCKED!

i regret not hiring him.. don't get me wrong.. boyfriend and i agree that our dj was awesome.. but Michael adds something.. aside from showing up sassed to the nines and looking 'DJ hot'.. he really puts thought into it.. this guy KNOWS HIS SHIT..

needless to say, from the first song he played to the last, boyfriend and i were on the dance floor (thank god their dessert table was also on the dancefloor) Bummed that it was all over someone slipped the driver The Flashdance promo disc and the party continued for our ride back to the hotel..

Despite my two day dance hangover i couldn't be more excited for the 19th when The Flashdance comes to NY! even boyfriend is excited...

btw, LOVE his advice on having a killer party for a wedding!

i often run over to the burrito cart in front of camper.. never fails there's a wait and i end up with a pair of boots.. they're great burritos but i always feel a little guilty spending over $200 on lunch!

when looking for wedding shoes i know i'm supposed to look at kate and christian but i went over to camper and pretty much fell in love.. needless to say we all ended up in campers..

boyfriend stood with two of his closest friends, steven who lives here in the city and teddy who lives in chicago with his wife and 2 boys..

stevens dad is so fn cute!.. core NY'er.. he picked out all of the wine for the wedding!

hillary and amy were two friends in the city who i knew would be a big part of the planning and execution of the whole thing- it made sense that they be my people.. during the 9 months leading up to the wedding we all went through a ton together and i can truly say that now they are both very close friends of mine

they both picked their dresses from jcrew.. so cute and very perfect for each of them.. they picked out matching tights which totally made it! and hill threw on a little piece of lace morning of to doll up a bit.. they were beautiful!

liz emailed me awhile back about hand lettering her invites.. due to timing i addressed labels rather than her envelopes and overnighted them to her.. they made it, she loved them, and they look awesome! they were featured on Brooklyn Bride today! congrats to liz and jeff on their upcoming wedding!! ive been hearing about the details for the last few months and can't wait for pics!

as you can see liz is totally talented and incredibly fun to get to know... im sure if you asked nicely she would help out with stds or invites or business cards or whatever!!

im leaving in a few hours for seattle... we're having our 'party at papas' for all of the family that didn't make it out to NY for the wedding.. then over to eastern washington to spend a week on a lake water skiing, rocking 70 spf, and relaxing...

ive mentioned my dad is on deadliest catch.. pretty cool.. he's named me president of the shoomamas so i've been super busy starting a fan club and getting a tshirt together... they're going to press now- needed them to be ready for dad to take to Sturgis in a couple weeks...
