round two

i made another batch of cake pops ..
ever since i started working with a trainer i've been baking like crazy..

i guess i figure if everyone around me gets fat it'll make me feel like im seeing results faster

yesterday i got a little crazy with red velvet cake and ended up with cake pops..

i think i can really get behind these.. a little labor intensive but cooler than cupcakes, great for portion control, and fn delicious...

and if you can't control how much you eat you can always shove the stick down your throat and launch...

brodie was trying to snag one all day...

red velvet recipe

frosting... 1 pkg cream cheese... 1 stick unsalted butter... dash vanilla... handful (or two) powdered sugar

not your average cupcake

last week while on the treadmill i watched martha make meringue cupcakes.. thinking it would make a good valentines day dessert i went home and made them... i'd never made meringue before and though it was fun it had to bake for 3 hours.. 3 HOURS!

i don't have that sort of patience when it comes to dessert..

meringue cupcakes... i didn't make them pink

raspberry curd... i didn't strain the seeds

whipped cream... heavy cream... dash of vanilla... handful of powdered sugar

yum

i prefer dessert to any other meal.. seriously

i married michael because he lets me eat dessert before dinner

there once was a truck that parked on my way home from work and served the most delicious little desserts for a scant 5$ ea.. i'd be lying if i didn't say i often spent 10$

the truck was parked in august and i've been missing it ever since..

they just announced the opening of their new dessert shop in the les on friday and i am SO EXCITED!!

my friend jenny saw this pic and wanted a closer look....

instead of favors we had a cookie table.. a couple of friends and i made a ton of cookies and i stamped a million muslin bags... the caterers put it all out towards the end of the night...

today i grabbed an ice cream cone from the Van Leeuwen truck before hopping on the train..

delish...  

but i will never do it again...   

there really  just isn't an innocent way to eat it... and i had way too many eyes on me for a day i didn't wear mascara.

around 9 tonight bf and i were trying to figure out what to do about dinner... 

bf: are you hungry?

me: eh.. not really, but i should eat

bf: what do you feel like?

me: ice cream

bf: baskin robbins? 

i love being married... 

me: reese's pb + hot fudge

bf: two scoops, reese's pb + mint choc chip)
